Ms. Ebony Watkins

Ms. Watkins was born and raised in Henderson, NC. She completed her education in Vance County Public school and graduated from the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. While at NC A&T, she participated in the Rural-Urban Exchange Program at Western Carolina University and  Studied Abroad in Belize. Both programs showed Ms. Watkins, the difference in many cultures and learning styles of students not only in North Carolina but in the world. With her bachelor's degree, she came back to her hometown to begin her teaching career at Vance County School. She is currently a third-grade teacher at E. M. Rollins STEAM Academy. Within her 4 years of teaching, she has obtained a teaching certificate and licensure for Birth-Kindergarten and for Grade Kindergarten through Grade six. She was awarded E.M. Rollins STEAM Academy’s Beginning Teacher of the Year for the school year of 2020-2022 and The Black History Month’s Teacher of the Year of 2022 for Gang Free Inc. Ms. Watkins enjoys creating memorable learning experiences for her students to grow and achieve academic goals.
